Connecticut state police responded to a tripped alarm at a Salisbury bank at 9:40pm last night. Upon entering the building, police found actor Rip Torn (Men in Black, RoboCop 3) with a revolver and highly intoxicated.
Law enforcements believe that Torn gained access to the bank through a broken window, which more than likely the actor likely broke himself.
Torn was arrested and taken to jail in North Canaan, where is he held on $100,000 bond. He is charged with first degree burglary, first degree criminal trespass, third degree criminal mischief, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
He is set to appear in court on February 1st.
Last year, Torn was given probation in a Connecticut drunken driving case and granted permission to enter an alcohol education program. He also has two previous drunken driving arrests in New York.
Back in the summer, director David Twohy (Pitch Black, 'Chronicles of Riddick')
"At the studio level, it would have to be a PG-13 movie again and we don't want to do that again," he explained. "We want an R, so we are looking at the possibility of setting it up as an independent movie and selling it territory by territory and thereby keeping an ownership stake in the movie. But we're trying to see what that would yield in this unsafe market…"
Diesel previously mentioned what fans can expect. "We're going to find Riddick alone for the first part of the movie, barely alive, surrounded by carnivorous monsters who are trying to eat him," he said. "So you'll see a futuristic Rambo-esque Riddick trying to survive."
Disney supposedly cast a wide net as it searched for the lead, because of the title it generated a lot of interest by such stars as Ryan Gosling and Chris Pine who met on the project, while Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield) was one of the those that actually screen-tested.
Hedlund will play the lead, a man who finds himself pulled into the world of a computer and retracing the steps of a character from the original movie named Kevin Flynn. Jeff Bridges is reprising the role of Flynn, who was a computer programmer but ended up as the CEO of a software corporation. Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett have also been cast in the project.
The movie is eyeing a spring shoot but to be honest I wouldn’t hold my breath on that.
When Anderson and Kubicek acquired the rights to the lucrative franchise last year, they envisioned the re-booted series as a trilogy. Christian Bale has signed on in the role of John Connor for all three films. The newest pic is tentatively scheduled for a 2011 release.
The duo had originally planned to wait until the release of “Terminator Salvation” next summer before deciding on whether to proceed with the next chapter, but the positive studio, fan and media reaction to footage from the current pic has encouraged them to move ahead of schedule.
“We feel the time is now to start shaping the next part of this,” Kubicek said.
"The monster success of girly vampire pic ‘Twilight’ at the US Box office last weekend could kick open the door for a big-screen return of Joss Whedon’s much-loved ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ Rumors are circulating in Hollywood that Whedon has a feature-film script based on his hit TV series ready to roll as soon as a studio is prepared to commit. The Buffy concept was first unveiled as a movie in 1992 with long-forgotten Kristy Swanson in the title role."
Whedon has not been able to get studios to do anything yet on this, so we are not sure how likely a Buffy movie is at this time. Plus Whedon is also working on the "Dollhouse" TV series and the "Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog" Webisode series.
Who would you like to play Buffy?
But, instead of coming from an EU partner or an Asian power, the request came from “a secret envoy of the Cosmos Supreme Civilization Circle”.
Hitherto secret papers released by the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) show the two premiers were contacted with some urgency about a prospective attack by a UFO.
Bizarre it may well sound, but both Kildare Street and Number 10 saw fit to acknowledge the incident with the UK government ordering the MoD to assess whether there was any action would be needed in the event.
The letter, which originated in Seoul, South Korea from an un-named author, urges support and help in the face of the threat of imminent attack on the earth.
“I am all anxiety a nobody know about riskiness of UFO attack to air defence of the earth and electric wave of the for kill and injury”, was the somewhat unlettered demand for attention.
“I want to discuss about space development of the your country. I want to meet to you. I demand to mighty support and help.”
Earthlings should subsequently be put under the control of the Cosmos Supreme Civilization Circle and the protection, presumably, of the “Robot’s Army”.
After the urgent letter hit Downing Street, it was forwarded to the MoD for “official action” according to a memo. “No 10 have passed it to us for action as we see fit and you are asked to consider whether there is anything which can usefully be said to the correspondent and to action accordingly,” said the rubber-stamped note.
The Department of the Taoiseach, in a reply to the author thanked him for his recent letter and said it would be brought to the attention of the Taoiseach “as soon as possible”.
Betty Meyler of UFO Ireland said she is not surprised by the letter and insists that discussions have taken place between different countries and aliens in the past.
“I’ve never heard of a letter being sent to governments before,” she said.
“But we do know that there have been meetings with the intergalactic governments and the governments of Russia, the United States and Britain. This doesn’t surprise me at all.”
OK, now was that worth the time you spent reading it? I think not! Don’t get me wrong I do believe that Aliens are real. They must be if you do the math and also I have seen UFO’s on several occasions years ago. So there is a chance they could be here among us, or have visited us at some point in the last 2000 years. But is any of this news true? Probably not. If this is a alien or aliens that are looking to attack us you would think they would be able to translate and spell a bit better, but if this was a alien I have to say that there isn’t a snowball chance in hell they could conquer us since they can’t even conquer a simple language.
So what’s your thoughts on this story, and hey don’t blame me for wasting your time, I didn’t write the bloody news article. :)-

Here are the facts so far, apparently, director Christopher Nolan has yet to sign on for the third film and until he does, casting, story and characters will not be discussed. "Chris and I haven’t even talked about it," Goyer told MTV News. "He quite understandably is taking a long, long vacation and wants to purge himself."
He added that there is nothing official, but admits that there have been some "unofficial" talks. "We have mused here and there [but] I mean Chris is pretty much a one movie at a time kind of guy," Goyer said. "I wish I could tell you more. There really isn’t anything to tell."
Goyer also stated that he finds these fan speculations "amusing."
This is very interesting news, since some of the rumors didn’t come from fans, but from actor Michael Caine. He said that he spoke to a Warner Bros executive, who revealed to him that both Depp and Hoffman are considered for The Riddler and The Penguin. Since then, Depp has stated that he would be interested, while Hoffman rejected the idea of him playing a villain in a comic book movie. Regarding Catwoman, Angelina Jolie has expressed interest.
So even though all these were just rumors, what and who do you want to see in the 3rd Dark Knight movie?
Road Trip: “Well, I am in preproduction right now, so I have a script that I am comfortable with, hired my director and set up my operation. ‘Road Trip 2’ will take place against the world of beer pong, which I think is a very topical subject for our TV audience.“
Naked Gun: “‘Naked Gun’ is about corruption in the city. A new [younger] police squad is being formed to battle the corruption.“
Bad News Bears: “‘Bad News Bears’ is set against the world of soccer.“
Grease: No story details are available just yet, but Feola promised it’ll be a musical where the songs function as an integral part of the plot.
Mean Girls: Too early in development for him to be able to offer up even a logline.
Feola confirmed that Paramount Famous will release five to six of these movies per year. But there are several properties that he considers untouchable, which means that we will never see a cheap straight-to-DVD sequel for them. Those properties are “The Godfather” and “Top Gun.”
