Sci Fi Channel gets ‘Mutant Chronicles’ and ‘100 Feet’

Mutant ChroniclesThomas Jane’s "The Mutant Chronicles" and Famke Janssen’s "100 Feet" have changed in mid stream and it’s been decided to skip going to theaters and are headed straight for non other than the Sci Fi Channel. The two movies will more than likely air in June of 2009.

‘Star Trek’ to be Completed Next Week

Director JJ Abrams has posted an official message on Facebook to say that the upcoming "Star Trek" movie is almost complete. Here is what he had to say:

"We’re just making final tweaks to the movie — we should be totally locked next week. Then we’re going to flash-freeze it so it’s totally fresh for you in May. I can’t wait for you to see the movie. The cast is awesome. The action and effects pushed the stunt team and ILM beyond their limits. I’m so grateful to this cast and crew — and to all of you for your interest and patience."

Bruce Boxleitner Returns for New ‘Tron’ Film

Well it seems that Bruce Boxleitner, who played Alan Bradley and the title character in 1982 Sci-Fi film "Tron," is currently filming a role for the upcoming remake. Boxleitner will join Jeff Bridges and newcomers Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett. Also now it is being said that the title "TRZ" is out and that the title will actually be "Tron 2.0" which sounds a hell of a lot better to us.

Warner Bros Loses Rights to ‘Watchmen’

Well the fight is over, Warner Bros who has been developing the "Watchmen" movie that was to be released March 6th, 2009 release was challenged by 20th Century Fox who claimed that they own the copyright interest to the property. As a result, the studio had threatened Warners that they would take them to court and would make sure that their "Watchmen" movie never got released.

When fans first heard of this, they promised to boycott all upcoming Fox movies, including "Australia" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Out of fear, Fox has announced that if they are awarded the rights to "Watchmen," they will make sure that the film gets released on time and will work out a settlement with Warners.

‘Gilligan’s Island the Movie gets Michael Cera as Gilligan

Michael CeraSherwood Schwartz, the creator of "The Brady Bunch" and "Gilligan’s Island," has decided to move forward with a big screen version of the 1969 "Gilligan’s Island" sitcom. And Schwartz already has already got actors in mind to play the roles of Ginger and Gilligan.

The legendary producer spoke to TV Guide, revealing that a deal "just happened in the last 48 hours." Adding that he would like to see Michael Cera (Superbad) play Gilligan and Beyonce to play Ginger.
