A teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming Batman game, entitled “Batman: Arkham Asylum ,” which will be published by Eidos. Apparently, Eidos has the rights to the Batman comics, while EA has the rights to the movies.

The game will be set exclusively in and around Arkham Asylum, which has been taken over by the Joker. The asylum will be a contained, persistent location, making the game feel more like Riddick or BioShock than other more recent,

‘Watchmen’ Video Game First Look

The "Watchmen" movie is currently in development and seems to be attracting a lot of attention by many of us so to cash in on the possible success of the film, Warner Bros Interactive is releasing a "Watchmen" video game as well, called "Watchmen: The End is Nigh." This action-brawler acts as the prequel to the story in the "Watchmen" graphic novels and movie. Taking place in an alternate history of the 1980s, the game stars the two masked vigilantes Rorschach and Nite Owl, and features a co-operative mode so that players can team up to beat down the bad guys.

WizKids Shut Down

The Topps Company has announced that it is closing down WizKids, its core hobby gaming business, and temporarily discontinuing the WizKids product lines.  Topps CEO Scott Silverstein commented, “This was an extremely difficult decision. But in light of the current economic conditions, we feel it is necessary to align our gaming initiatives more closely with Topps current sports and entertainment offerings which are already being developed within our New York office.”  WizKids is based in Seattle, Washington.

Zack Snyder Developing Video Games

Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) has signed a deal to develop three original video games for Electronic Arts, which is the world’s leading independent developer and publisher of interactive entertainment and games software for console systems. The agreement is very similar to one made by EA with Steven Spielberg in 2005. Their first collaboration, a puzzle game for the Nintendo Wii called "Boom Blox," was released in the spring to rave reviews but modest sales.
