Torchwood Miracle Day

Synopsis

“One day, nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging – they get hurt and sick – but they never die.

The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four months’ time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy. The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking “What is Torchwood?”, he’s drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.”

Smallville Booster

Synopsis: After everything that happened with the VRA, Lois (Erica Durance) tells Clark (Tom Welling) it’s best to make Clark Kent forgettable and awkward so people don’t suspect he’s The Blur. However, the two are stunned when a fame-hungry superhero from the future, Booster Gold (guest star Eric Martsolf), sweeps into town and begins making saves and posing for press ops, completely winning over the city of Metropolis. Booster begins his campaign to take The Blur’s place as the ‘World’s Greatest Superhero’ and tries to charm Lois into writing a story about him, but she’s not having his antics and begins her own campaign for The Blur. During one of Booster’s saves, an alien weapon in the form of a scarab falls from a truck and fuses itself to a boy named Jaime Reyes (guest star Jaden Brandt Bartlett), turning him into the Blue Beetle. Unfortunately, Jaime is unable to control the suit and Blue Beetle starts attacking Metropolis.

The episode was written by Geoff Johns and was directed by Welling.

time travel

Here is a translation of the statement: “The time-travel drama is becoming a hot theme for TV and films. But its content and the exaggerated performance style are questionable. Many stories are totally made-up and are made to strain for an effect of novelty. The producers and writers are treating the serious history in a frivolous way, which should by no means be encouraged anymore.”

In a nut shell it sounds like the problem isn’t necessarily with time-travel, but with movies that place modern characters together with historical figures, China finds the whole thing offensive. The result of time-travel is usually comical and at times makes some awesome science fiction movies, time-travel it is also widely used by most SciFi TV series at some point or another. This doesn’t mean that movies about historical figures can’t be made, they just can’t be inaccurate or represent China’s heroes poorly.

Logans Run

The project is based on the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan that was adapted into the 1976 film starring Michael York. The base of the story for those of you that have no clue is a future society where people are executed upon reaching a certain age and those that seek to avoid their fate are deemed “Runners.” There was also a short lived TV series also named Logan’s Run (1977-1978) which picks up where the original movie left off.

The character of Logan is one of those executioners, known as the Sandmen, who ends up on the run after he becomes sympathetic with members of an underground railroad of Runners.

Beall will be picking up writing duties after Alex Garland (Never Let Me Go, 28 Days Later), who was previously attached to the project.

Ryan Kwanten - hero

Ryan pulled up, saw the man down, jumped out of his car, and raced over to see if he could help,” a witness told JustJared, adding that Kwanten was screaming at people to help him get the man off the road. A few pedestrians ran over and carried the man to the sidewalk.

He stayed there watching him until paramedics arrived,” the witness continued. “There was a crowd gathering and people recognized Ryan but he was just focused on making sure this guy was okay.

There’s no word on the man’s condition at this time or how he ended up injured in the first place. I have to say way to go Ryan, it’s good to see not everyone in Hollywood is a none caring mindless wonder.
