Well looks like Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) in one of our favorite shows True Blood will be getting a new love interest in Season 3, and after what he went through last season I have to say the character deserves it.

The Thing Prequel to Get Underway in March
Lately I had started thinking that The Thing prequel had been buried due to no info being put out, but low and behold a Twitter posting by Production Weekly suggests that the shoot will commence this March. According to their post, “Universal’s prequel to John Carpenter’s classic thriller The Thing is due to begin filming March and continue till June in Toronto.”
Avatar Banks Over a Billion and Still Going Strong
James Cameron is sitting on top of the World, with the writer-director’s sci-fi hit Avatar reaching a global box office total of $1.02 billion over the weekend. Avatar has become the fifth film in history to reach the billion dollar mark, after Titanic ($1.8 billion), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($1.12 billion) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest ($1.07 billion) and The Dark Knight ($1 billion).
Dune Remake gets Morel
After a good bit of searching Paramount Pictures has reportedly found a new director for its remake of the Sci-Fi classic Dune. The studio has gotten French filmmaker Pierre Morel (Taken, From Paris With Love) to replace Peter Berg, who dropped out last fall to direct Battleship instead.

Avatar’s Na’vi Language Site is Up
Awhile back we reported that James Cameron had someone create an entirely new language for the ‘Avatar’ film. The new language was used in the movie by the Na’vi (the blue folks with the tails) on several occasions to say such things as “hey listen” and “you like baby.”

‘Green Hornet’ Sidekick hates Hollywood
December 2010 we will see Taiwanese actor/musician Jay Chow as Kato, Green Hornet’s (Seth Rogen) sidekick in the upcoming ‘Green Hornet’ movie. But it looks like he is not too interested in acting, but is just hoping that his music career can spread to the US.
