Why Genre Shows are Dying! Part 1

TV viewingI just finished reading a article by Michael Hinman over at SyFy Portal, oh my bad, that's Airlock Alpha these days since I guess he sold out to the suits at SyFy Channel, which use to be the SciFi Channel, but I'll get into that another time. Anywho, the article was about Sci-Fi shows taking a beating in the ratings and was spouting on and on about last year ratings compared to this years ratings, and about shows being cancelled like  "Knight Rider" that was on NBC, "Pushing Daisies" that was on ABC, and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" that was on Fox, and that if something doesn't change we are going to lose more shows. Guess what folks, the reason we are losing so many shows is that most of them suck!! Read on to find out why.

Michael Shanks as Hawkman

Stargirl and Hawkman Heading to Smallville

Michael Shanks as HawkmanWe have another great storyline coming to Smallville that should be as good if not better than last season's "Legions," and our expectations are high as Geoff Johns a comic book writer who wrote "Legions" is also writing two episodes called "Society" and "Legends."  This arc will introduce Hawkman, Stargirl and Dr. Fate. This will be a two hour special event on the CW here in the US with both episodes being televised back to back on January 29, 2010.

Dollhouse Cancelled

Dollhouse gets the Axe!

Dollhouse CancelledFinally 20th Century Fox TV has pulled it's head out of it's ass and announced that it has cancelled the Joss Whedon drama "Dollhouse," like we all didn't know that this was inevitable. Truth be told this show sucked in just about every aspect of a TV series. The writing was on the wall when the network pulled the show from its Friday slot during November sweeps, but the show was still scheduled to come back December 4th with Summer Glau joining the cast.

‘Smallville’ Star Coming to ‘Heroes’

John GloverWell we all had been wondering when we would have a crossover from Smallville to Heroes, well it;s here folks, the struggling NBC drama "Heroes" has tapped John Glover (Lex Luthor’s dad on "Smallville") to play Sylar’s father.

‘King of the Hill’ Canned, But the Show Goes On!

King of the Hill
Well "King of Hill" has been cancelled, but apparently that’s not 100% correct. At least one network has already expressed interest in the show, which was recently canned by Fox.
The suitor is none other than ABC, as "King of the Hill" would make a strong companion to the network’s upcoming animated comedy "The Goode Family," which comes from "King of the Hill" executive producers Mike Judge, John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky.
