To start with Alba is set to appear in the third “Meet the Parents” film, in Casey Affleck’s “The Killer Inside Me” that requires a bit of nudity which we will all drool over, and she has just completed filming “An Invisible Sing of My Own,” a film based on a novel by Aimee Bender.

2012 Series Could Replace Lost

2012 movie posterRoland Emmerich, the director of the upcoming apocalyptic film "2012," has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that a TV series version of the movie is already in the works.

"The plan is that it is 2013 and it's about what happens after the disaster," said Emmerich. "It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating. Harald Kloser and I came up with the idea and we have the luxury of having a producer on the film who is a big TV producer, Mark Gordon (Grey's Anatomy)."

Green Lantern moves out of Oz. Does that mean a delay?

Aside from Batman, it doesn’t seem like any film version of DC Comics heroes can catch a break: While Marvel’s Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and other franchises zoom ahead, DC’s various projects remain stalled or stillborn. The latest is Green Lantern, which is now having to rethink a decision to shoot in Australia because of costs.

“Quantum Quest,” which is a independently financed 3-D animated film being made in conjunction with none other than NASA, has assembled a great line up of Sci-Fi celebrities for the voices, which will include none other than the two folks to portray Captain Kirk on the big screen William Shatner and Chris Pine. There is also two who have portrayed Darth Vader, James Earl Jones and Hayden Christensen. These four Sci-Fi celebs will topline the voice cast of the $10 million pic.

Bruce Boxleitner Returns for New ‘Tron’ Film

Well it seems that Bruce Boxleitner, who played Alan Bradley and the title character in 1982 Sci-Fi film "Tron," is currently filming a role for the upcoming remake. Boxleitner will join Jeff Bridges and newcomers Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett. Also now it is being said that the title "TRZ" is out and that the title will actually be "Tron 2.0" which sounds a hell of a lot better to us.

Sci Fi Channel gets ‘Mutant Chronicles’ and ‘100 Feet’

Mutant ChroniclesThomas Jane’s "The Mutant Chronicles" and Famke Janssen’s "100 Feet" have changed in mid stream and it’s been decided to skip going to theaters and are headed straight for non other than the Sci Fi Channel. The two movies will more than likely air in June of 2009.

Another ‘Terminator’ Sequel Announced

Terminator 5We all new that there was a fifth Terminator Sequel in the works, well now we have some official news on it. Halcyon executives Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek are developing the a fifth installment in the “Terminator” franchise. Helmer McG, who directed the upcoming fourth film, “Terminator Salvation,” is working with the Halcyon duo on the latest project.

The announcement was among the news that came out of the Dubai International Film Festival. No decision has been made as to where to film the next “Terminator,” although the Middle East was mentioned as a locale.

Also Paramount Pictures and the IMAX Corporation has announced that Star Trek, directed by J.J. Abrams ("Mission: Impossible III", "Lost" and "Alias”), will be simultaneously released to both IMAX and conventional theatres worldwide on May 8, 2009.
