Casting Begins for ‘War of Gods’ and ‘Clash of the Titans’

Relativity Media is negotiating with Henry Cavill ("The Tudors") to star as Theseus in the Tarsem Singh-directed "War of the Gods." At the same time, Warner Bros is in talks with Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation, Avatar) to play the role of Perseus in the Louis Leterrier-directed "Clash of the Titans."
Deals for both actors are expected to be worked out, keeping the Greek mythology-themed projects on a parallel track. Both films are expected to begin production by late winter or early spring.

Darren Aronofksy Talks ‘Robocop’

Well the Great Britian magazine Empire had a chance to speak with director Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream) about the upcoming "Robocop" remake that he will be helming and David Self (Road to Perdition, The Wolf Man) writing. According to Aronofsky, everyone is currently waiting for the script to be finished.

Nolan Discusses ‘Justice League of America’

"The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan talked to the LA Times about the upcoming "Justice League of America," movie which Warner Bros has been delaying but still plans to make. Nolan strongly believes that Batman is absolutely needed in the "JLA" film, but he also thinks that the Batman that he has developed in "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" will not fit into a universe where Superman exists.

‘Army of Two’ Video Game Coming to Big Screen

Seems we have another cool video game that will be adapted for the Big Screen. Universal Pictures has acquired screen rights to the Electronic Arts video game “Army of Two.” The studio is serious on this project as they are set to begin production in 2009 and has set Scott Z. Burns “The Bourne Ultimatum” co-writer and ‘The Informant’ to write the script.

A new trailer for the upcoming "Watchmen" film appeared during the Scream 2008 Awards on Spike TV. While the now famous Smashing Pumpkins song is once again used in it, there are still lots of new footage to see. In addition to a new trailer Warner Bros has released a new poster as well. It features a shot from the trailer, showing a man being thrown through a window with the tagline stating: "Justice is coming to all of us. No matter what we do." The poster also has the film’s MPAA rating: "Rated R for graphic violence, sexuality, nudity and language."
