3D content is rapidly becoming very popular again, from movies like the recently released sci-fi film Avatar to video games. Now a slew of 3D television sets are ready to go on sale but they have a hefty price tag to go along with them, but thats about to change. DirectTV is planning to combine 3D with HD to launch the very first 3D-HDTV Channel as soon as next year. The satellite TV provider is said to announced the new 3D-HDTV channel at the Consumer Electronic Show on January 7th, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Well here is some more proof in the pudding that Sci-Fi and fantasy is kicking ass and that science fiction is very much alive and is in no danger of going extinct anytime soon. Yahoo has unveiled its list of the most popular movie trailers of the year for 2009 and this year’s top honor was none other than ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon.’ Trailers for both ‘New Moon’ and ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,’ which took second place, were watched over a whopping 20 million times each. Though these are impressive numbers it’s not incredibly surprising since the films were huge blockbusters.
We have been waiting forever and a coon’s age to find out who will star in the upcoming ‘Green Lantern’ movie, besides just Ryan Reynolds, well director Martin Campbell has been quietly putting together an amazing behind the scenes crew to bring the character to the big screen.

Paramount COO Frederick Huntsberry back in October delivered a presentation about how ‘Star Trek’ had become a hot commodity in piracy circles, adding that illegal file-sharing has become more wide-spread and was not just for the “geeks” any more.
