Now we find out that the movie has been pushed back to an unspecified new release date for unknown reasons. While the film is rumored to already have a script, with the writers’ strike still ongoing that script cannot be, um, transformed into the final well-polished version we’re all expecting. (Excuse me while I grab a pillow to sob into, just for a moment….. There, that’s better.)…

Here’s some odd, but cool, news on the Star Trek front: Tyler Perry, aka the big black down-to-earth Southern matriarch Madea, has landed a role in the upcoming Star Trek feature film from JJ Abrams. (While we love Madea, we’re going to hope and assume that he’s not in his trademark drag for this one!!) This is Perry’s first gig in a film which is not his own, and we’re hoping it leads to more for this talented actor/director/producer…
