mad max - mel gibson

During a press junket for Edge of Darkness, the actor confirmed that he will not reprise his role as Mad Max. He won’t even appear in a cameo. “No, not at all,” he said.

Even though there have been reports that British actor Tom Hardy has been cast in the lead, there has been no confirmation from director George Miller. Many were hoping that Gibson would return to the franchise after his production company signed on to produce Mad Max 4.

SNL Avatar

The movie is “Laser Cats 5,” starring Weaver, Bill Hader and Andy Samberg. It is pretty much a spoof of Cameron’s most popular films, including Terminator, Aliens, Titanic and of course Avatar.

Thats not all folks we also have the skit from the show that pokes fun at the sex scene in Avatar. Check out both videos below.

In the movie, a group of elite warriors are hunted by members of a merciless alien race known as Predators. The script includes predator dogs and predator falcons, in addition to a Black Super Predator who is described as a Predator on steroids. The reboot stars Topher Grace and Adrien Brody, and is scheduled to hit theaters on July 7th, 2010. Photos: Click on image to view and download.

Now, Cameron in a interview with Entertainment Weekly has added that it would just be stupid business not to make a second installment. “It just makes sense to think of it as a two or three film arc, in terms of the business plan,” he said. “The CG plants and trees and creatures and the musculo-skeletal rigging of the main characters — that all takes an enormous amount of time to create. It’d be a waste not to use it again.

He went on to say that in the first Avatar film that parts in it or setup’s for future installments. “I’ve had a storyline in mind from the start — there are even scenes in Avatar that I kept in because they lead to the sequel.

We’re not exactly sure what scenes he is referring to, but according to Cameron, the follow-up will pick up immediately after the end of the first film. “We’ll follow Jake and Neytiri,” he confirmed.

And while Cameron has yet to begin any serious work on the script, Sam Worthington already has some ideas for his character in the sequel. “Jake should have abused his avatar and be fat and unfit and demand Neyteri to get him a beer,” he joked.

Transformers: War for Cybertron

Transformers: War for Cybertron will feature two distinct storylines: the Autobot campaign tells a story of heroism to save their home planet against overwhelming odds, and the Decepticon campaign tells a story of an unquenchable thirst for power to control the universe.

For the first time in a Transformers title, fans will be able to play the game with their friends through team-based online co-op, or go head to head in a variety of intense, online multiplayer game modes.

The game features a sci-fi art style that introduces fans to the entire living metallic world of Cybertron, as well as all-new visualizations of the iconic Transformers characters in their original Cybertronian forms.

The game is set to be released in stores on June 22nd.

Star Trek 2009

That’s the last weekend before the Fourth of July, and is a very sought after slot. As of right now the sequel has no competition, but it’s still early and there will surely be one or two movies that will give it a run for the money.

The first JJ Abrams-directed Star Trek film began filming in November of 2007 and was then released May 8, 2009 and grossed $385 million on $150 million budget, . If the sequel follows suit then filming could begin by the end of the year.

Robocop 2010 Teaser

And according to rumors it’s also because MGM chairperson Mary Parent has been pushing and grinding to make the new remake in 3D, now especially since Avatar‘s big success. Aronofsky is bent on making the film without any gimmicks.

Aronofsky has also talked about completely rebooting the franchise from scratch and simple ignoring what Paul Verhoeven did with the original film. MGM may also have a problem with that, considering that fans expect certain things from the original to be used. Now Aronofsky has chosen to work on Black Swan instead of Robocop and the studio says it will simple wait for him instead of hiring another helmer for the project, like they planned back in July.

Hey you suits as my granny use to say, “Either shit or get off the pot!!” It’s time to make your minds up, either make the damn film or just mothball it and stop yanking our chains.

Luke Goss

It looks like Luke Goss (Hellboy II: The Golden Army) will star as Frankenstein in this prequel called Death Race: Frankenstein Lives. Goss will play Carl “Luke” Lucas (aka Frankenstein), who has been framed by the mob for the murder of a police officer. Once relocated to Terminal Island, he is roped into entering the famed race to stay alive.

The straight-to-DVD Frankenstein Lives is directed by Roel Reine (The Marine 2), who will begin filming in Eastern Europe next month.

V (2009)

V – 2009

Series Synopsis: Today, the world woke up to find spaceships over every major city. The Visitors claim to have come in peace, bringing gifts of medical miracles and technological breakthroughs. They promise to do no harm. They’re lying. Most people believe the aliens have arrived just when we needed them most. We’re eager to embrace their generous offers of help, but while tracking a terrorist cell, Homeland Security agent Erica Evans stumbles upon something far more sinister. When her partner tries to kill her, Erica discovers that the aliens have plans to infiltrate our governments and businesses, planting seeds for their plot to control mankind. Convincing anyone of the truth will be impossible because the Visitors have two powerful weapons. First, they’ve given the people faith with their reassuring presence and gifts. Second, they’ve rallied our youth. Thousands of teens, including Erica’s son, have been recruited as ‘Peace Ambassadors’ but they’re actually serving as unwitting spies. Erica’s violent introduction to the truth thrusts her into the resistance movement, where she joins forces with Ryan, a rogue alien driven to save humanity. She’ll have to balance her covert activities with her job, and her role as a mother, fighting to protect her son Tyler even as he joins forces with the enemy. From executive producer Scott Peters, Emmy-nominated creator of The 4400, comes a bold re-imagining of the sci-fi classic. Let the invasion begin.
